In the past, getting a new crown on your teeth took two trips to the dentist. The first was to get fitted for your crown. The second was to have your new permanent crown placed. However, most of us don’t have time for multiple dental appointments, if we can avoid them. At Travis A Bell DDS PLLC, Dr. Travis Bell, Dr. Janna Matko, and Dr. Margaret Szott give you the option of getting same-day crowns.
You don’t have to schedule two or three different appointments just to get a crown on your tooth. With CEREC crowns, we make and place your crown in one sitting while you wait. This is a huge help if you’ve got a packed work schedule. You’re not trying to find time for multiple trips—just one and done. You can completely fix the problem and get on with your life.
Temporary crowns are just annoying. You’re always worrying about them falling off when you’re eating. And you have to be very careful when cleaning them. With same-day crowns, you skip that whole part. You’ll never have to deal with a flimsy temporary. When you leave the office, you’ve got your permanent crown bonded in place.

Remember that goopy putty dentists used to use for impressions? You can probably still taste it if you close your eyes and time-travel back to that time. It made everyone gag. CEREC crowns don’t use that. Instead, the dentist uses a small digital scanner to take a 3D pictures of your teeth.
Because the crown is designed from that 3D scan, the fit is incredibly precise. We utilize specialized software (CAD/CAM) to design and create your new tooth. This means the crown will fit perfectly against your other teeth. A better fit makes it easier to clean and helps your bite feel normal right away. It’s built just for your mouth.
CEREC crowns also look just like your real teeth.
After numbing your tooth, the dentist preps it and takes the digital scan. Then, the computer designs the crown, and a milling machine makes it, right in the office. This only takes a short time. Once it’s ready, the dentist checks the fit. Then they bond it into place. You’re all set. Much easier than people think.
There’s no need to make a big road trip out of going to the dentist. Right here in Greensboro, our dentists can help you with same-day crowns. The office can be reached by calling (336) 297-6956, and a member of the team will arrange an appointment for you.Â
